What we wore...

This pregnancy I had the ambitious idea that I would do some posts about things I wore during pregnancy and how to make use of the clothes you have and still be fashionable.  And then life was CRAZY, and I ended up wearing the same five outfits the whole pregnancy… womp womp.
So when little Jameson arrived, I was excited about wearing my clothes again.  I also forgot about the fact that I would not immediately fit in my clothes again.  And this time around it is taking a little longer  to get there.  So between the fact that my hips are still bigger than they used to be and the need to be able to breastfeed… again my clothing options are limited.
Soooo… I am giving this a try.  I am going to try to post some of my creative outfit solutions each week (along with the kiddos outfits because they are cute:))
Maybe it will inspire myself and others to have fun dressing well with what they have :)

My Outfit…

Shirt (Forever 21- but I got it at Goodwill)
Brown Linen Shorts- JCrew
Necklace- Loft
Shoes- we bought on our honeymoon

I love the shirt detail :)

And the Kiddos...

BD picked out her be achy top today
Top- Mudpie
Some fun giraffe smocking- gifts from my in-laws :)
Both- Castles and Crowns (PS… BD asks to wear her "Giraffe dress" every day)

Baby dedication outfits- I have some better pictures coming, but for now this will have to do!
Bailey Drew- Found at Goodwill- appears to be handmade!
Jameson- Andrew's from when he was little :)

BD- Southern Tots(Found at thrift store)
Jameson- Shrimp and Grits (gift)
Fitting in this 3 month Polo one more time...
And graduating to this 6 month one… and he is not even 2 months yet!!!
Some fun outfits for the week :)
We will see how creative I get next week ;)

Stitch Fix Fun :)

Sooo… it is Stitch Fix time again :)  About a year ago I heard about this little styling service in a box and it sounded so fun.  Normally I don't spend much month (if anything) on clothes, so this is truly a treat for me!  Now, after my first fix I realized I would be spending more than I usually spend on clothes (but remember you are also talking to the girl that shops goodwill and garage sales and when I am feeling really fancy the sale rack).  But, after choosing to keep my fix… I realized that I wear this stuff more and it is better quality.

Anyways… when I saw that I had some credit on my account (from wonderful readers getting their fix through my link:)) I told Andrew that this is what I wanted for Christmas/Anniversary/My Birthday!

Without further ado… check out my fix :)
__________

{item one}

Geometric Black and White Top
I am not going to lie… when I first saw this I said ew (as in I don't like it at all).  But upon trying it on I actually thought it was quite fun with plenty of room for the growing baby bump.  Only problem… way more than I would usually pay for a shirt, even in a stitch fix.  But… since I wanted to keep the other four items and you get 25% if you keep all five, it was actually cheaper to go ahead and get it.

__________

{item two}

Awesome dark wash maternity skinny jeans
Classic, everyday piece. Love these, will probably be wearing them for the next 9 months ;)

__________

{item 3}

reddish cowl neck shirt

I asked for something bright in my box because sometimes I think winter clothes get dark and dreary.  This was perfect, fit well and will accommodate the growing bump.  In fact I think you can see the bump in one of the pictures :)

__________

{item 4}

off-white oversized sweater with pockets
The pockets are really the best part of this… I should have taken a picture showing them off.  The shite color scared me a little… I can be a bit of a mess, have an almost 2 year old and teach 4 year olds… but I thought I would risk it.  Also the sleeves were long enough and sleeves are never long enough for me on sweaters!

__________

{item 5}

3 pack of maternity camis (not pictured)
Thought I would spare y'all :)… I figured I might get these because my pregnant friends that have done stitch fix have also gotten them.  Super soft, a good price, and the fact that I wear something like this very single day made them a good buy!

What about you?  Have you done stitch fix?  Want to give it a try?  I reccomend it as a fun treat or gift every once in a while! :)

What I Wore Wednesday...

Now I do not claim to be a major fashion expert… so when I attempted to try the whole
White After Labor Day
thing… I needed some advice.

What do you think?  Are these acceptable outfits?  Which is better?  What would you change?

What We Wore… {Giveaway}

It is so fun sharing what the little one and I wear on a regular basis.  Especially because I love to show how you can be stylish and NOT spend a fortune on clothes.  I always say I am going to do what we wore posts more often and then forget.  Maybe this is a step in the right direction!

We are trying to embrace fall and stay cool considering it has been above 80 degrees this week!

The Little One

*Gap shirt purchased from a thrift store for $2 (love a bargain)
*Baby jeggings (a cloth diapering mama's best friend)
*Salt Water Sandals
*Pink Bow (otherwise she would look like cousin it)

The Bigger One ;)

*Simple Black Shirt from a local boutique
*Vest from Old Navy like 10,000 ago (okay, like 7 years ago… but still)
*Favorite pants ever from my Stitch Fix (worth the splurge… I only wear them like every other day)
*Salt Water Sandals

Got my hubby to snap the all up and half up styles...

AND… the awesome news is I am getting the chance to share one of these awesome Lilla Rose Hair-clips

First of all, Melody is the "keeper of the clips" and she is a mama to 4. She is the one that suggested me try these out and share them!

So let me tell you about the hair clip…
I am not going to lie, when Melody first came to me about the clip I was like, "Eh." I don't even wash my hair but once a week and almost never blow dry it, it would be wasted on me.  Plus I am just so simple… always just use a pony tail holder.
The very day Melody came to me I saw a friend wearing the clip!  So I asked- do you like it?  is it worth it? And the answer was a resounding yes!  She said it was so easy and did not leave a mark in your hair.  If you know me, you probably know I was sold at easy!

So I got my clip and tried it out for a month or so…
This one is super simple… just my style!
And I have loved it.  I just either throw it in my hair in the morning or throw it in my purse so that I can wear my hair up later in the day if I so desire!

Besides the ease and cuteness of these, one of the biggest selling points for me is the fact that they support a fellow mama.  :)

Want to win one of you very own?  Please enter here :)

Want to buy one fore yourself… or for Christmas presents… this is a great deal!

Have you tried Lilla Rose Hair Clips?  Which Style do you like best?

WYWW #9 and What We Wore

What You Wish Wednesday at the end of the post!
____________

My wonderful hubs and daddy to BD did a little photo shoot for us yesterday!  I love the pictures even though they were taken on my iPhone (my regular camera is already packed)!
*BD is wearing a white wrap dress that I wore when I was little, with a red bow and her brown Salt Water sandals.
* I am wearing a custom eShakti dress, red bubble necklace and Kenneth Cole shoes.
A while back eShakti  contacted me about doing a product review for an item from their website.  So I went and checked it out and found out that they are an online clothing company that specializes in custom clothing at inexpensive prices.  And when I say custom, I mean custom.  When I picked this dress (which took me a while because there were so many cute styles ranging from casual to dressy) I got to tell them everything.  I told them all my specific measurements, I had options for pocket or no pockets (pockets, duh :)), neckline and length.  My dress arrived and fit like a glove because it was made for me!
I particularly love that I got to choose the length.  I don't know if you have noticed, but the selections for dresses right now are short and shorter.  Being that I am already 5 '10' (ish… maybe more), I currently can't find dresses that are not too short.  For this dress I opted for a much longer cut so I could have no worries as I chase after and pick up BD!
The other thing that was awesome about the custom dress for me personally was the waist. Because I am tall, the waists on dresses always hit above my waist.  I thought that was how it had to be, so I have always just accepted awkward fitting dresses.  But because of my measurements the dress hit my waist just as it was supposed to!
Anyways, I am loving this dress and company!  I think it would be great for bridesmaid dresses (under $100 with no alterations? Yes please), everyday dresses, tops, skirts and more!
I think it is definitely something worth checking out.  If you do here is a coupon code 'stylebudget'-  exclusively created for my readers to get 10% OFF when they shop at eShakti –
