Where the spirit of the Lord is there is FREEDOM...

This Easter was so special... and I am just getting to write about it... I have realized time flies with a newborn.
Last Easter season was different.  We had just found out we were pregnant that week with the sweet baby we lost.  We also just found out that Andrew's Grandmother had passed away on Good Friday.  It was a time of excitement and then disappointment.  Andrew and I had to deal with some of the saddest and hardest times.

Those times were a struggle... and to contrast with this year... we have just had our precious Bailey Drew and are enjoying life as a family of three, Andrew is about to graduate and start a job somewhere, and I am enjoying some time off work :).

On Easter Sunday we went to service with week old Bailey Drew and my mom at Vintage Church.  There is a song we have been singing lately in worship- "Freedom Reigns" by Jesus Culture.  It is one of those songs that Andrew doesn't really like because we spend 5 minutes of the song singing owowowow (spelling???).  Maybe he hates it because I can't sing and try to sernade him later with some offbeat version of the song.  Anyways, I digress... there is a line that says- Where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. This comes straight out of the scripture below...

Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.  But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:12-18
God really used this in my heart on Easter Sunday.  I began to think about how there are all of these things in my life that I could be chained to.. that could be dragging me down.  Things like sin, crushed dreams, unforeseen circumstances, hurts, broken relationships... etc.  Only because of Christ am I able to have freedom.  There has been enough junk that has happened in life that could bring me down, that I could let frustrate me or even ruin my life... but I know in Christ I am free from those things!  I am so thankful for the freedom I have in Christ and long for others to experience that same freedom.
