I am brought back to the story of Mary and Martha (a lot) from Luke 10:38-42
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
What am I spending my hours and days toiling over?

Great post, Stasia! We just gotta let things go...don't we?
ReplyDeleteYes… but I am just so stubborn sometimes and want to hold on! :)
DeleteExactly what I needed to hear today!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad :)
DeleteLetting go can be hard for me, too! :) There will always be errands to run, dishes to do, clothes to put away, rooms to clean...bus is that what REALLY matters? Serving others, conversations with friends, time spent alone with God...these are the things that really impact our lives.
ReplyDeleteLaura, you hit the nail on the head. Am I worrying too much about the things that I will never be able to cross off my to do list or things that make an eternal impact.
DeleteThank you for sharing this! We need to choose the better option always and let things go :)
ReplyDeleteYes, and I have to remind myself of this each day :)
DeleteThis is great. My devotional today was on Being Still. So hard sometimes
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to be still, our world says go go go. We must live different format eh world!
DeleteSuch a great reminder! Thanks for the challenge to "let it go"... I kinda need to hear that daily! Blessings to you :)
ReplyDeleteI need to hear it daily too!
DeleteMy husband and I were just talking about that passage of Scripture this week! Such a good reminder!
ReplyDeleteI come back to this passage a lot because I do tend to be a Martha.
DeleteGreat perspective! I struggle quite often with letting things go, so I appreciate you sharing these thoughts with us!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post. I love the story of Mary and Martha... and I often ask myself who am I acting more like. I tend to be a Martha and not enough of a Mary, so this scripture is important to me. Choose Christ first.... yes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and linking up to the #SHINEbloghop.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Thank you so much for linking up with us! I love the question, "Am I more concerned with tasks or people?" I definitely need to make this question more of a priority because my to-do list seems to distract me way more than I want to admit. Thank you for such an encouraging post.
