5 on Friday

Wahooooooo… if is Friday!  Time for 5 things… and I am really excited to share them this week!

one

I am so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so (you get the picture) excited about a gift giving/Christmas series I am working on.  I know it is only October 3rd… but it will be here before we know it!
It is going talk about things like…
Giving as much as you spend
Shopping Local/WAHMs
Shopping Stores that Give Back
Serving

Please, take two minutes to watch this video.  It is my heart for this series and I think it will start to prepare your heart for the Christmas season a little bit today! :)

two

October seems to be a big month for bloggers.  Many do 31 days of writing… which is a really cool idea.  Things like 31 days of resting in God, 31 days of simplicity, 31 days of simple projects.  So I was racking my brain a couple of nights ago… I am a blogger so of course I should do this right?  But I was praying through it, thinking about what I could write about for 30 days.  And I just kept hearing, "NO."  And I kept responding, "but this is a good thing," and "all the bloggers are doing it." And then I was reminded that just because it can be a good thing, doesn't mean I need to do… so I am bowing out this year.  To focus on other things (like said series above that I am so excited about).

three

Next weekend BD is going to be a flower girl.  Secretly I am a little jealous… I never got to do it when I was a kid!  Obviously she will be the cutest FG ever! :)

four

Last week I tried to give up my daily cup of coffee.  Not sure why, maybe to save a few bucks.  The productivity I lost with out my early AM cup of joe was not worth it.  I would like to officially welcome coffee back into my life… you were missed!

five

I think we are headed to our first UGA game in YEARS this weekend.  And BD's first :)

This picture is from 8 years ago (is that even possible????).  Besides marveling at the length and shaggy nature of Andrew's hair, I am also amazed at how much style has changed the last few years.  So weird… and I feel old.

  1. Really excited to hear more about your Christmas series! Oh goodness, I tried to give up coffee once- bad idea haha! And so great you listened to God and didn't do the 31 series. There is always next year and we can't do everything well. So we need to find the few things we are called to do and then do them! Always love stopping by! Have a great one!

  2. Isn't it funny to look back on old pictures when we thought we looked great? I look back even just 4 or 5 years and think was that really in style? ha ha! And yes, BD will be an adorable little flower girl!! :)

  3. Yes!! 8 years seems like hardly anything and then you look at yourself and it's like...dang.

I was never a FG either. Totally jealous of Abigail and BD!!

I did blogtember last year and it was a lot of work!! I mean, it totally kind of kicked off my blogging career and helped my find my voice and it was totally beneficial to me but I think it will be another year or too before I try that again ;)

  4. AMEN to the video. It went so fast I could not read it all. We stopped doing gifts a few years ago. It is so stressful trying to buy something people need. I said that is not what it is about so we stopped. I have always been more of a birthday person because that is a special day for that person.

  10. Love the video and it's where my heart has been going these days. I want to be less materialistic and I certainly don't want to deal with all the Christmas crowd craziness either! Ugh! I think this is a great challenge. I also love the little ways you've revealed what's going on in your life and world lately, Stasia! It's an honor to be invited in!

  11. Great time to post the advent video...I often want to make more/spend less but don't start until it is too late and too stressful! Maybe I can start earlier this year and actually do it?!

  12. Stopping by from Thought-Provoking Thursday, and I'll be back to check out your Christmas series. You have a beautiful presence here! I'm one of those 31 Day bloggers for the first time this year, but you were absolutely right to obey God's promptings. Bless you in this journey!

  13. I will need to keep an eye out for your christmas series. I really really want to change and do something radically different than the stress-out-try-and-buy-the-perfect-thing-then-feel-guilty thing… and I know my family would all be fine with that. BUT I'm the problem! I don't seem to be very good at getting stuff made for everyone, and I feel a real 'need' to 'do' something nice for everyone… Phew… Hope that didn't come out like I have a problem… even though I might:)

  14. Girl, you better keep that coffee around! I tried that once, and it didn't go well.

Looking at old pictures is always so fun. I am amazed at how fast the time goes by.

I bet little Miss will be a wonderful flower girl!

  15. Loved this! I especially loved how you said "no" to blogging for the 31 days. Sometimes the "in things" just are not for us. ;) Your baby girl is precious and I'm sure she is going to be a great flower girl! Hope you had a great weekend, Stasia! Thanks so much for sharing and linking up with the #SHINEbloghop!
