Thoughts from a semi-sleepless night...

*"Days are long, but the years are short."  Totally feeling this quote right now, but it would be rewritten "the nights are long when your child does not wish to sleep, but it is all still going by to fast and I still love letting her sleep in my arms."

*In light of the prior quote I am writing at 4:00 am… and should probably be sleeping.
*I am so excited for Cow Appreciation Day at Chick fil a that I am trying to get my husband to do it twice (breakfast and lunch:).
This day one year ago… can't believe how much BD has changed!
*We are moving, like soon, and don't know where yet.  Everyone has been asking and our responses oscillate between "We have faith in God's timing," and "If another person asks…" We are trying to stick with the first response!
*Reading If I Stay
kind of reminds me of The Fault in Our Stars
I am enjoying it!  Next I am reading Cinder: Book One of the Lunar Chronicles
Excited to be squeezing in some summer reading! :)

*Studying through Acts- being stretched.  Reading through Psalms- being encouraged.  Reading through Proverbs- seeking wisdom.

*I should probably get some sleep now :)

  1. are you going to read Where she Went (the "sequel" to If I Stay?)

Sorry you're having some sleepless nights, but you're right, the time they are little goes way too fast. Enjoy your cuddles.

  2. LOVE the cow pictures! :) I've thought about doing that today, but I haven't done anything to prepare! Wonder if I can throw something together by dinner! I'm DYING to know when/where you are moving...but I'm sure that's nothing compared to how you're feeling! I know God has big plans for y'all. I'm just glad we met when we did so we can keep in touch! :)

    1. I want to see some cow pictures of your family :) We just throw our costumes together each year, we probably should save them year to year!
And we want to know where we are going too! Can't wait to know!

  3. Cow Appreciation day is the best! And yeah...I was rocking my one year old to sleep the other night, feeling frustrated that it was taking so long, but also happy that I had the time to snuggle. Motherhood! It's crazy!

    1. Seriously… we have done Cow appreciation day for the past 6 years!
It is so hard sometimes to take in the moments, I have to remind myself that babies don't keep!

  4. Thanks, Stasia for linking to the first Saturday Soiree Blog Party! I loved seeing the pictures of your little "cows"! My littles have pinkeye and we didn't make it this year. :( Also thanks for the book suggestions. I am in between reads right now and may take you up on your book suggestions. I look forward to seeing what you will share next week!

  5. (Something happened to my first attempt at a comment - hope y'all don't wind up with two...)

I don't sleep much, due to PTSD and (now) pain from a terminal illness. Not a bad thing, as I can catch up on reading, and writing when I'm well enough to sit at the computer table.

It's also a chance to appreciate the still watches of the night.
