Summer Bucket List... Update 2

Summer Bucket List 2013... Update 2

Okay... So apparently I am doing these posts once a month... Don't expect another until mid-August...:)

Set up new home

*pack up house in New Orleans

*drive/move to Statesburo (these first two may seem ridiculous, but they seem like a huge thing right now... I want to be able to cross them off the list :))
Moved in...

*set up living room
*set up kitchen
BEFORE

AFTER
*set up bedroom
*set up nursery
*set up bathroom
*set up office
***I have no pictures except for the kitchen right now... I am currently laying on the ground with BD listening to the sounds that the animals make... I will have to get some and post them later :)

Books to read

Multiply by Francis Chan
It is a book with a ton of scripture, one that you are meant to mull over, not speed through.  God is still using it in BIG ways... who knows, maybe I will use it in a Bible study in the fall.
* Shepherding a Child's Heart by Ted Tripp
Finished!  Andrew and I are doing a weekly study of this book and it has been really good.  I was interested in seeing what the rest of his ideas were so I read ahead :).  Now I can tell you that this is a book that people either love or hate because it includes... ahem, spanking.  Ted Tripp is a believer and he has a thorough explanation on when, where and how.  I think the book, especially the beginning is great to read no matter where you fall on the spectrum, it is convicting about not only addressing your child's heart, but also your own.
*When Helping Hurts by Steve Corbett & Brian Foikkert
The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian
*How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth by Gordon D. Fee & Douglas Stuart
I have started this one... pretty dense read so far... but great info.
*Ender's Game
Added this one later when I felt like reading a Hunger Games/Divergent like book... it was a fun easy read.

Things to do

* go to the beach at least once

*visit Andrews family in Alabama
*visit grandparents in Maryland
* visit grandparents in Ohio
- not sure if we are going to be able to squeeze these three in... already feel like we have been traveling like crazy with little bit!

*go to Charleston
*go to Savannah
*yard/garage sale- staterted putting stuff on craig's list... does this count???
*back to running- I think I am going to try to run the Savannah Half Marathon in November... so I have fit some running back in... on my run this morning I did trip and eat some concrete, so hopefullt that won't happen again :)
*back to working out- trying to do 30 Day Shred on the days I don't run.
*blog often... kind of...
*get better at computer stuffs this one is so vague... I am going to have to remember what I meant by this... and get on it!

What is on your bucket list this summer???

  1. I love Divergent and have been eyeing the Ender's Game! You should check out Matched by Ally Condie, it's similar too and good!
