desperate...

Desperate... having an urgent need or desire

not usually a positive emotion.

But lately I have been pondering being

desperate for God.

About a year and a half ago I can say that Andrew and I went through a stage where we were truly desperate for God... like down on our knees, turning to Him constantly...
We had just had a miscarriage and the journey that came with it was one of the most difficult things we have ever experienced.  We dove into scripture like never before.  At night we would spend hours on youtube listening to hymns and worship songs.
And here we are today, blessed beyond measure, don't get me wrong, things are not perfect... but they are good :).  And in all of the goodness, and blessing and business... and the NORMAL, we lose the desperate need for God. It seems in life it is the mountains and valleys that we cling, that we deperately seek God.
So in the everyday, we are seeking to be DEPERATE for our Savior.  To cling to Him, to sing hymns at night and read scripture in the morning.  To pray continually.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me. Galations 2:20

  1. Beautiful post! We went through the same thing and found the only way to get through the pain and hardship was worship and just knowing Gods promises. There may be pain in the night but joy comes in the morning!
