The Budgeting Diaries: My 5 most successful side hustles...

We are back with...

Now that we have made it to the other side of Christmas maybe you want/need to side hustle for a bit of extra money. Here are my top 5 ways I have made money on the side!

One

Facebook Sales Groups

I started selling on pages like these a little over two years ago. To be honest I had way too much baby girl clothes and I decided if she had not worn it or I did not like it... we did not need it. I would post piles of clothes. Then I started to look around the house for more stuff we did not need. That extra hair dryer, the two extra casarole dishes, the frames we were not using. I wish I had been keeping track of how much we have made over the past two years!
Two
eBay
I started selling things on eBay at about the same time I started selling to Facebook groups. I only use eBay for high end name brands. eBay is all about the name brand!

Three

Garage Sale

Things that don't sell in areas one and two? Combine that with anything else I have laying around the house and viola a garage sale! You can see some of my garage sale tips here.

Four

Odd jobs

Need a baby sitter? Pet sitter? I am your girl. I am not saying I can take any odd job... But where I can I will.

Five

Freelance Writing and Blogging

I have used elancenin the past and made money... I just have to make sure I have the time to put in to write the piece!
Ideally my blog would be making tons of money because that is what inenjoybdoing the most, but I am not quite there yet. I make a little here and there and get free products from time to time... But I mostly just enjoy writing.

What about you? Any other ways that I missed to make money on the side???

  1. I sold on eBay for a while and made pretty decent money. But I've been having trouble getting back to it lately! I've also been spending a lot of my time blogging. Always love reading about side hustles!

  4. Hey Stasia,

I was parked by you on Modest Mom today, and I'm glad to find your post. What a bunch of great ways to save a little money!

One of the ways we save BIG every year is to keep all of our receipts. When it gets to this time of the year, we pull them out and add up all of our sales tax. The amount we spend is usually 3 x's what the tax code suggests as the norm. It's a little tedious, but it pays off!

Hope you have a blessed day~

  5. So nice to read something from a blogger who isn't already making a lot of money from their blog. I've been blogging since 2007 and sometimes feel I've been left behind!
